Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Logistics is responsible for overseeing the process of planning, scheduling, and controlling the efficient and effective flow of production materials and related information from point of receipt of materials to the point of shipping finished product for the purpose of filling customer orders. This position works closely with the Vice President of Manufacturing, Director of Quality Assurance, Director of Procurement and the Director of Engineering to ensure that corporate on-time delivery goals and quality & customer objectives are met.

Director of Logistics


  • Directs the activities of the receiving, storage and shipping of materials and products to ensure that products are delivered on-time to meet customer requirements and corporate objectives.
  • Plans or implements inventory  management systems to meet production requirements
  • Reviews and evaluates business procedures dealing with the receiving, storage and shipping of all materials related to producing WIKA products.
  • Forecasts inventory demands to meet production needs.
  • Develops & trains shipping & receiving department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding logistics strategies
  • Monitors work procedures to ensure that the most efficient practice is followed and revises procedures as needed.
  • Reviews reports on flow of materials through the sales/projects, purchasing and inventory departments to ensure that production and delivery goals are met. 
  • Works with Vice President of Manufacturing to develop strategies to better meet goals.
  • Reviews weekly production schedule with the Vice President of Manufacturing to ensure that best practices are being followed.
  • Identifies areas where productivity can be improved and costs can be reduced thru improved logistics processes.
  • Develops and implements programs that will develop each of these goals.
  • Performs ancillary duties as required


  • Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • 5-10 years in a similar role required preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others and with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to work well with others to accomplish common goals.
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills.
