SF6 Gas Analytic Equipment

 

Switching operations (i.e. discharges in SF6 - filled equipment) over time lead to an increasing amount of moisture and highly corrosive decomposition products such as acid in switchgear tanks. These impurities impede the long-term safe operation of switchgear by creating compounds that corrode the interior surfaces of the tank over time and lower the amount of SF6 gas available for arc quenching. Keeping track of the acidity, moisture, and SF6 percentage in a tank is needed to ensure the long-term operational safety of a breaker.

The WIKA SF6-Breaker-Analyser is an innovative and cost effective means of determining the levels of SF6-purity, moisture, and decomposition products in SF6 - filled equipment. Measurement time and amount of SF6 needed for inspection are minimized by combining these three functions into a single device.
