The SF6-Aciditor is a cost effective way to determine the levels of SO2/SOF2 in SF6-filled equipment
NOTE: SO2, SOF2, and HF acids occur in predictable ratios inside of SF6-insulated switchgear, requiring detection of only one of them in order to know the acidity level inside the tank. WIKA Gas Analytic equipment detects SO2 with a cross sensitivity to SOF2 because it allows for more accurate calibration. SO2 & SOF2 react slowly over a long time period with encasing materials while HF reacts immediately with encasing materials. This introduces error into the calibration process because a test sample of the acid is needed for calibration and this sample immediately begins to react with the encasing material so that it is no longer a pure reference.
